1st May 2015

Labour Day is an annual holiday celebrated all over the world, recognising the economic and social achievements of workers. Popularly known as May Day or International Workers’ Day, the 1st of May is also a public holiday in Malta and Gozo. Activities commemorating this event take place mostly in Valletta.

The date also coincides with the religious feast of St. Joseph the Worker celebrated in the town of B’Kara and Malta’s accession into the European Union, 11 years ago.
